Today was the hardest day and will probably be the hardest of the whole trip! We worked to build a food cellar for an orphanage in Belize! We stood in a 1oft deep hole in 90 degree weather and mixed dirt and water to put into bags which made cement blocks. There's about a 10 step process to get just one bag!
1. The first that was dug out of the hole needs to be dumped back in but it has to be in piles of 20 buckets
2. White powder called lime was then mixed with the dirt
3. Make a volcano with the mixed dirt then make a crater to pour the water
4. Pour the water which comes from a bucket that has to be lowered into the hole
5. Mix the dirt and water (certain technique)
6. Put the mix into buckets
7. The buckets get poured into the white bags
8. Fill and close bag
9. Lay bag on side, move to touch other bag (no gaps)
10. Pack the bag of dirt so it's flat!
This whole process took at least 4 hours per row of bags! It was exhausting but there were some fun times!
I ended up being promoted to manager of the hole which was great and something everyone joked about! (I got the position because of my loud mouth of course!)
We worked 8-5 and got so much done but we are going back tomorrow to try to finish as much as possible!

So we play as hard as we work! We were challenged by a local youth group to tug of war (against guys)! It was best 2/3 and we won the first round! You could tell the guys didn't see it coming so the second round didn't end well! As seen above I was pulled over Heather and into Emily's backside! The pics are backwards but the are literally a great representation of what happened! Getting drug through the grass hurt but it is one memory I'll never forget!
