Im a day behind on my blog because the wifi is so slow, but I still want to share what I experienced yesterday!
Fresh banana pancakes with the most amazing orange juice for breakfast!
On the second day we split up into groups and went out on our own to explore the city! It's not like America at all. People walk everywhere including the middle of the road! Those who drives are maniacs so I learned to watch out. While walking through the city my group stopped at a small smoothie shop, I had the Cayo Sunrise which was pineapple, mango, and oddly cilantro.
We walked through a fresh produce market and it was so colorful! I tried coconut water which was actually good but the coconut weighted a good 5-10 pounds!
After walking through the city and lunch we went to our first ruin site, Xunantunich. I didn't actually make it to the top of the tallest one unfortunately. It wasn't because I am scared of heights but some other issues took place. For those of you who have traveled out of the country you probably know what I mean, but for those that haven't a bit of advice...watch what you eat and be prepared to have to go at any time. Apparently my bathroom schedule changed and I was not prepared to run down a high monument! It was very nerve wrecking but after it all it was a good laugh!
Also the food is AHHHHHHMAZING! I am not going to starve while I am here!
